Program applications for the 2018 admissions cycle will be available on July 1, 2018 from the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS).

The Georgia Southern University Graduate Studies application is not used.  


Georgia Southern University accepts both early decision and regular decision applications.  The early decision option is a binding option and was created for those applicants who have identified a program that is their first choice.  Applicants accepted during the early decision process will not be permitted to apply to any other program using PTAS during the application cycle.

Application deadlines for early decision and regular decision are set annually.  The early decision deadline for the entering 2022 class (i.e. those matriculating in May, 2019) is August 15, 2018; the regular decision deadline is October 1, 2018. These deadlines are firm.  All information (transcripts, GRE scores, references, etc.) must be received and processed by PTCAS for consideration. PTCAS advises that “processing may take up to 4 to 5 weeks once all required materials have been received”.  Interviews for the early acceptance process will occur in mid- to late-September.  Interviews for the regular admissions process will occur between November and February.  See “Admissions” link for information pertaining to prerequisite requirements.

You are advised to refer to PTCAS frequently to ensure that all required documents have been received and processed.  It is critically important as well that you check your email account regularly and take any necessary steps to prevent messages from being diverted away from your email inbox.

Early Decision Applicants

For your application to be considered in the early decision pool, you must declare that intention when you submit your application to PTCAS. It is important to verify that you are preparing an early decisions application (not regular) before you submit your application. Our program will not change your status if you do not select early decision prior to submission; your application will be considered in the regular admission pool.

If application, transcripts, scores or fees arrive after the early decision deadline, PTCAS will automatically change your file from early decision to regular status.

Graduate Record Exam (GRE) Scores

The following code for Georgia Southern University should be referenced when requesting GRE reports:  5253. Note that PTCAS has mandated that all candidates applying for early decision must take the GRE and request scores by July 31. All applicants for regular admission must take the GRE and request scores by Sept. 15. It is worth repeating that PTCAS advises that “processing may take up to 4 to 5 weeks once all required materials have been received”. For this reason, applicants are advised to take the GRE exams in ample time to allow for processing by PTCAS.

Application Fees

In addition to the PTCAS fees, a supplemental application fee of $50 for all applicants is required.
Applications submitted without payment of the supplemental application fee will not be processed.
