Lorden received both her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Master of Science in Physical Therapy degrees from Armstrong Atlantic State University. She then earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Medical College of Georgia. Lorden has had extensive clinical experience in both geriatrics and pediatrics. She continues to practice in a local outpatient pediatrics clinic where she sees patients regularly, on a part-time basis. Lorden achieved her Pediatrics Clinical Specialty (PCS) certification in 2019. This accreditation is awarded through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).

Lorden also spent a significant amount of time as a Credentialed Clinical Instructor for dozens of students, in a variety of practice settings including long-term care, short-term inpatient rehabilitation, transitional care, and outpatient and home-based pediatrics prior to joining the faculty as an Assistant Professor. She is also an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and has been a member since 2004. Additional professional memberships include the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia (PTAG) and the Academy of Pediatrics section of the APTA.

Lorden primarily teaches in the clinical medicine, pediatrics, and neuro lab courses for the physical therapy graduate students, as well as a pathophysiology course for the undergraduate students. She is thrilled to be able to continue to see children in the clinical setting, while teaching future physical therapists in the classroom setting.
