DPT Students Selected to Present Research
Two Doctor of Physical Therapy students, Alec Hochrein and Kasey Keller, have been accepted to present their joint, student-led research via poster presentations at the Orthopaedic Summit: Evolving Techniques 2023, this September. The research projects are titled, Effects of Blood Flow Restriction on the shoulder’s internal and external rotators Post-Activation Potential performance using Hand Held Dynamometry and Effects of Blood Flow Restriction on upper extremity to assess neurocognitive performance using Blaze Pods and were completed under the guidance of Sidney Stoddard, Jr., DPT, assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences, and George Davis, DPT, professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences, and Bryan Riemann, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Health Sciences and Kinesiology.
The Orthopaedic Summit is a gathering of Total Joint (Knee, Hip, Shoulder), Foot & Ankle, Sports Medicine, Arthroscopic, Spine and Trauma Surgeons, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, and Occupational Therapists from across the globe.
