Department of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Sciences Host Asthma Conference
Hosted by the Waters College of Health Professions Department of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Sciences, this year’s Asthma Education at the Cutting Edge Conference titled “Wheeze, Crackle, and Flow: Asthma Educators Reaching and Teaching the Asthma Community” provided training to 145 nurses, asthma educators and respiratory therapists.
Attendees heard from seven guest speakers and discussed topics such as asthma programs in Georgia, understanding vaping, community pharmacists and school nurses as primary asthma care providers, and asthma coalitions in action.
The one-day free event is held annually in October and is sponsored by Georgia Asthma Coalition, Georgia Department of Public Health, Environmental Protection Agency, Magnolia Area Health Education Center, and the Georgia Society for Respiratory Care.
