Department Launches Scrub Closet

Faculty in Georgia Southern University’s Department of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Sciences have established a Scrub Closet to help increase access for students who may be struggling financially. The goal is to have the closet full of uniforms from different programs in the department available to students who may not be able to purchase required uniforms.

“Faculty in the Sonography program have done a Scrub Closet on a small-scale for years, but this year I asked all of our departmental faculty to reach out for donations from graduating students,” stated Yvonne Dillon, lecturer and clinical coordinator of the Sonography program. “We are working to create a system for our students to be able to request a specific size and check availability of a uniform.”

Faculty are working together washing, organizing and making labels for the uniforms and plan to have details sent out to students regarding scrub availability by the fall semester.
