Faculty Receive Faculty Service Award
The Faculty Service Committee has awarded Dr. Katy Gregg, assistant professor in the School of Human Ecology, Dr. Gavin Colquitt, associate professor in the School of Health and Kinesiology, and Dr. Ashley Colquitt, associate professor in Community Health Behavior and Education, with a faculty service award. The award will be used to provide support staff, a student camp coordinator, and materials needed to operate Camp RAD: Recreation for Adolescents with Disabilities. Camp RAD has been offered the past three summers and supports youth with disabilities in Bulloch County by offering a summer camp experience. Through collaboration with the Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department, The Therapy Spot, and Georgia Southern faculty, Camp RAD provides safe, free opportunities for adapted physical activity and sport, health education, and life skills training to adolescents age 10-21.
Camp RAD will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from May 31, 2016 to June 23, 2016. Campers can register for Camp RAD on April 11, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Honey Bowen Building.
