Mind, Body and Fitness Program
September 13, 2021, started week one of the Mind, Body and Fitness program initiated by Department of Health Sciences and Kinesiology faculty members Christina Gipson, Ph.D., Tamerah Hunt, Ph.D., and Megan Byrd, Ph.D. The program is free of charge and aims to help identify, address and manage stress. During the program, undergraduate sport management students enrolled in the Leadership in Sport Development course at Georgia Southern University are working directly with Bulloch County teachers to provide fitness and mindfulness activities. Prior to the start of the program, students received training in mindfulness and personal training activities through Fitness Mentors and Symonds Corporate Training. So far, participants have worked on balance, flexibility and muscle endurance, discussed work-life balance, and identified personal stressors and their impact. You can follow the journey on Facebook.
