Sport management students participate in Case Study Bowl in Las Vegas

Students in the sport management program at Georgia Southern University traveled recently to Las Vegas, Nevada, with Assistant Professor Gregg Rich, Ph.D., to participate in the Case Study Bowl hosted by the Sport Marketing Association.

Held during the 2021 Sport Marketing Association Conference, the Case Study Bowl provides undergraduate students the opportunity to bridge what they are learning in the classroom with the sport industry. During the competition, students Connor Whitley, Ryan Woyce and Jonah Copeland were tasked with building a brand for the Henderson Silver Knights, a minor league hockey team.

Additionally, Rich, with research colleagues Tyreal Qian, Ph.D., and Lei Lou, Ph.D., presented their research “Examining the Relationship Among Market Demand, Event Identification, and Behavioral Intentions at the Shanghai Masters” during the conference.

Additionally, the faculty researchers participated in a poster presentation and presented their research, “Toward a Better Understanding of Core and Peripheral Market Demand for Women’s Sporting Events: An Importance-performance Map Analysis Approach.”
