Students Recognized at Dietetic Internship Pinning

The Department of Health Sciences and Kinesiology’s Dietetic Internship (DI) program hosted its annual pinning ceremony at the Nessmith-Lane Center on Georgia Southern University Statesboro Campus. The ceremony recognized those who have successfully completed the DI program. Family, friends and preceptors were present as dietetic interns were presented with a certificate, a verification statement of program completion needed to sit for the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Examination for Dietitians, and an official registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) pin from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

To successfully complete the DI program, students had to complete 23 hours of coursework and a minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised practice experience.
