Undergraduate Degree Programs

The Department of Health Sciences and Kinesiology offers students a variety of undergraduate degree programs. Explore your interests in the following degree programs, and find out which program is right for you. 

Athletic Training

Location: Statesboro Campus

The Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training, certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), prepares you with the knowledge and experience to qualify for entry-level work in certified athletic training.

The Commission on Accreditation for Athletic Training Education has recently mandated that all Athletic Training programs must result in granting students a Master of Science in Athletic Training. In preparation for this, Georgia Southern University will not accept students for admittance into the undergraduate Athletic Training program after Fall 2019. Georgia Southern is currently working on plans to transition to a Master of Science in Athletic Training.

Exercise Science

Location: Statesboro Campus

With a major in Exercise Science, you’ll be prepared for advanced studies in medicine or rehabilitation sciences, or for a career in fitness centers, research laboratories, or as an exercise technician in a cardiac rehabilitation center.

Sport Management

Location: Statesboro Campus

The Sport Management Bachelor of Science program explores the professional side of sports (commercial, managerial and legal) and provides you with academic preparation and hands-on training for success in a highly competitive field.

Nutrition and Food Science

Location: Statesboro Campus

Our Nutrition and Food Science programs allow you to specialize your degree within Community Nutrition, Food Science/Food Systems Administration, and Dietetics. Your studies will prepare you for work in fields including food safety and management, food marketing, medical nutrition therapy, and advanced food science.
