Kathy Anderson named NIH NIMHD Scholar

School of Nursing professor Kathy Anderson has been selected as a participant scholar for the National Institutes of Health National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities course Integrating Principles of Science, Practice and Policy in Health Disparities Research.  The course will offer a “cross-disciplinary perspective in the field that will inform innovative research, practice, and policy interventions.”

Selection to this course was extremely competitive. Ms. Anderson was selected as a scholar from a pool of highly qualified candidates. In her acceptance letter, Ms. Anderson’s selection was attributed to her excellent work in “addressing health disparities.”

The course will be held in Bethesda, Maryland August 11-22, 2014.
