Embrey to Serve on International Governance Committee

This past November, during Sigma Theta Tau International (Sigma) 45th Biennial Convention in Washington D.C., Trina Embrey, DNS, RN, was elected to a two-year term on the International Governance Committee. The International Governance Committee is made up of seven members from the international organization’s chapters who reside around the globe. Committee members will oversee bylaws compliance, make recommendations for bylaws changes if needed and oversee member and chapter eligibility issues.

In addition to Embrey’s role as an assistant professor in the School of Nursing and undergraduate program director for the Nursing program on Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus, Embrey serves as the President for the Rho Psi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.

During the convention, the Rho Psi Chapter, which includes Georgia Southern University’s Student Chapter, received two Showcase of Regional Excellence Awards for Outstanding Achievement in two areas of the Presidential Call to Action: Collaborate and Connect.
