Nursing Students Assist with Blood Pressure Screenings

The Georgia Southern University Employee Wellness and Benefits Office partnered with the School of Nursing to offer blood pressure screenings for employees in February for American Heart Month. Nursing students performed blood pressure screenings and provided health education on hypertension and strategies to achieve optimal blood pressure readings to over 50 Georgia Southern employees. Patricia LaRose, human resources coordinator for Employee Wellness and Benefits, coordinated the screening with School of Nursing faculty Candace Makant, MSN-Ed, RN, and Celine Pfund, Ed.D., MSN, RN.
