Two Nursing Students Receive GANE Scholarships
The Georgia Association of Nursing Education (GANE) recently awarded two Georgia Southern University nursing students with scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) student Danielle Rukezo was awarded the Sarah Helen Killgore Scholarship. First awarded in 1991, the Sarah Helen Killgore Scholarship is given annually to acknowledge future nurses who are committed to excellence in nursing.
Second-year Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student Maureen Quinn was awarded the Spillman-Bischoff Scholarship, which is given to a nursing graduate student who has demonstrated potential as a nursing leader in the field of nursing education.
Quinn, who currently resides in Darien, Georgia, is working toward her family nurse practitioner and stated the funds received will be used to assist her in paying for tuition, books and fees associated with obtaining her degree.
To be considered for a scholarship with GANE, students had to be currently enrolled in a Georgia nursing program and complete an application process.
