Family Nurse Practitioner Curriculum

Program Links
Students may “opt out” after the final Primary Care course and receive their MSN degree in order to be eligible to sit for their national certification exam. If students choose this option, they will have 2 years to return and complete the remaining DNP courses for the DNP Degree.

Both synchronous (live, real-time) and asynchronous (on your own, not live) formats are used.  Most of the course work is asynchronous but live sessions are scheduled in selected online courses. Students should consult with individual course syllabi for specific live session requirements.

Higher Education Law
Explores basic legal precepts and their application to institutions of higher education, primarily using the case study method and discussion.

Fiscal management and budgeting practices applicable to higher education institutions are the focus of this course.

Public Health Perspectives in Community Based and Translational Research
This course will familiarize students with concepts, issues, and skills relevant to translational research approaches in public health.
Professionalism and Ethics in Public Health Practice Research
This course explores critical issues related to the professional development of public health practitioners and ethical responsibilities necessary to assume leadership roles in the field.
