Clinical Experiences

Program Links

The program requires both classroom and clinical experiences. Clinical course requirements are met at community sites (e.g., outpatient clinics, private practice offices, nurse practitioner clinics, hospitals, community agencies, and public health departments). Clinical preceptors can be nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, clinical nurse specialists, or agency personnel approved by faculty. Students may seek preceptors within their geographical area of residence. Clinical sites may require travel and students are responsible for personal transportation to and from clinical sites.

All students must complete their clinical hours within the state of Georgia and the facility must have a current Memorandum of Understanding with Georgia Southern University. Students must be aware of their individual state’s requirements for out-of-state didactic and clinical experiences.
