Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate Clinical Experience
For the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Track, students will choose a site in their area which fulfills the qualifications of the course they will be enrolled in for that semester. Upon acceptance into the track, students will receive additional information about paperwork necessary for selecting/using a preceptor including Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Request, Preceptor CV, and Preceptor Agreement with the facility. All preceptors must be a Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the facility must have a current Memorandum of Understanding with Georgia Southern University.
Here you can find our Preceptor Manual which familiarizes students and preceptors with clinical expectations. Students will provide a copy of the Preceptor Manual to each professional that they use as a preceptor. The preceptor must acknowledge receipt of the manual by signing and returning the Verification Page. An online orientation to program will be held in the semester prior to beginning of clinical courses.
