Mincer received her Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida. She also has a Master of Science degree in the area of orthopedic physical therapy from Georgia State University. She most recently completed her EdD in Curriculum Studies at Georgia Southern University, and has been teaching in this Physical Therapy program since 1996.

Mincer has more than 30 years of experience as a physical therapist in a variety of practice areas, including acute care, general rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, general orthopedics, and home care. Mincer currently practices part-time in acute care.

As part of her advanced orthopedic education, Mincer completed additional clinical training in manual therapy of the spine at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Oakland, California. She enjoys being able to apply qualitative and mixed methods to her research, and her current scholarly pursuits include the scholarship of teaching and learning, Team-Based Learning, and spinal mobility and stability.

Mincer is a member of both the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia. She is a Certified Trainer/Consultant in Team-Based Learning and is a member of the Team-Based Learning Collaborative as well as the Orthopedic, Oncology and Education Sections of the APTA.
